barBURRITO (South Edmonton Common)

A tasty & satiating shop in a great location.

Atmosphere: 3/5 – Pretty generic fast food joint vibe. Horse picture near the bathroom is random. Rebrand from green to red was a good choice.

Price: $$/5 – Average pricing for the size of food that you get.

Customer Service: 3/5 – Servers were polite. Service speed was slower than average.

Location: 5/5 – Lots of other stores nearby. Accessible by transit.

Taste: 4/5 – Very tasty burritos; much better than most other fast food places. Not a fan of the new chicken they started using.

Menu: 4/5 – Menu is average size with a couple of unique items. Would be nice if they had specialty taco/quesadillas. Large size burrito is huge.

Sustainability: 1/5 – Couldn’t find info on ingredient sourcing. No advertised sustainable initiatives.

Strengths – Great location, Tasty food.

Weaknesses – No sustainable initiatives.

Good items to buy: Spicy buffalo chicken, pulled pork, Jarritos.

Summary: 3.3/5 - Overall, I would recommend stopping by barBURRITO if you are in the mood for a burrito. They have very good food that is much better than other Mexican fast food places. Their menu is average size and has a few unique items that make their shop stand out against the competition. I love getting their spicy buffalo chicken with a Jarritos. The seating and atmosphere are okay; pretty generic for a fast food spot. There isn’t an exhaustive amount of seating available so don’t expect to get a seat during busy holidays. They have a random horse photo that kind of stands out in a weird way. Forewarning, if you get the large size prepare to gain five pounds because that burrito is huge. The one area I think they could improve in most is by creating some sustainable initiatives.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope it helps you!! 😊
