Transcend Coffee (Garneau Café)

My favourite café in Edmonton. Great staff & even better coffee.

Atmosphere: 5/5 – Modern & clean but a little small. Well lit. Seat spacing is good but slightly limited.

Price: $$$/5 – Average for a high-end café but will put a dent in your wallet if you visit often.

Customer Service: 5/5 – Servers were very polite. Service speed was above average.

Location: 5/5 – Amazing location for university students; close to the river valley, high level bridge, and Whyte Ave. Not easy to find parking nearby, especially free parking; Ritchie location is more accessible for most.

Taste: 5/5 – Coffee has a great, strong + smooth profile. Bakery Items are just as delicious as the coffee.

Menu: 5/5 – Menu is average size with a decent selection of unique items. Could have more food items.

Sustainability: 3/5 – Couldn’t find info on bakery ingredient sourcing. Coffee is sustainably sourced and paid for at above fair-trade price.

Strengths – Excellent coffee.

Weaknesses – Could do more in terms of sustainable practices.

Good items to buy: Cold Brew, Latte, Scone, Coffee milkshake.

Summary: 4.7/5 - Overall, I would one hundred percent recommend stopping by Transcend Coffee. They have outstanding coffee and snacks. Their menu is average size with a few unique items; it is mostly lacking in the amount of food items available. I love their coffee milkshake. The seating and atmosphere is very relaxed but small. The one area I think they could improve in most is by creating some sustainable initiatives to become a local leader in sustainability.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope it helps you!! 😊
