A stand out café with great coffee & an even greater atmosphere.
Atmosphere: 5/5 – Vintage, rustic & cozy. Well lit. Seat spacing, and availability is okay.
Price: $$$/5 – Average for a high-end café but will put a dent in your wallet if you visit often.
Customer Service: 4/5 – Servers were polite but disengaged. Service speed was average.
Location: 3/5 – For most people it is a little out of the way. Not a lot of stores nearby; mostly homes. Parking & transit available nearby.
Taste: 4/5 – Coffee was very good; it had a smooth profile but wasn’t as strong as I would have liked. Bakery Items are average tasting.
Menu: 4/5 – Menu is on the smaller side of average size with not that many unique items or food items.
Sustainability: 2/5 – Couldn’t find info on ingredient sourcing. No advertised sustainable initiatives.
Strengths – Good coffee, great atmosphere.
Weaknesses – No sustainable initiatives.
Good items to buy: Latte, Coffee, Breakfast sandwich.
Summary: 3.7/5 - Overall, I would recommend stopping by Square 1 Coffee. They have great tasting coffee that has a nice smooth profile. Their menu is on the smaller side of average size and unfortunately doesn’t have many unique items nor a lot of food items. That being said, the food that they do have is pretty good. The seating and atmosphere are both awesome. The café has a very vintage and cozy feel that makes you want to stay a while. The one area I think they could improve in most is by creating some sustainable initiatives.
