An intoxicating restaurant that is as delicious as it is charming.

Atmosphere: 4/5 – Modern & rustic. Dimly lit. Seat spacing is a little bit tight.

Price: $$$/5 – Average pricing for restaurant food. A few very pricey beverages.

Customer Service: 4/5 – Servers were very polite. Service speed was slightly slower than average.

Location: 4/5 – Amazing location for university students; not so much for others. It is close to the river valley, high level bridge, and Whyte Ave which is very nice. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find parking nearby, especially free parking.

Taste: 5/5 – Very tasty food and alcoholic beverages.

Menu: 4/5 – Food menu is average size with not that many unique items. Beverage menu is very large with many unique items.

Sustainability: 1/5 – Couldn’t find info on ingredient sourcing. No advertised sustainable initiatives.

Strengths – Very flavourful food & drinks.

Weaknesses – No sustainable initiatives.

Good items to buy: Pulled pork, Chicken & waffles, Leffe Blonde.

Summary: 3.7/5 - Overall, I would recommend stopping by Sugarbowl, especially if you are into the booze. They have outstandingly beverages and great food. Their food menu is a little small, but their drink menu is very large. There is the occasional unique food item on special but for the most part the food menu has pretty common items. I love their pulled pork sandwich. The atmosphere is nice, but the seating is a little cramped, especially when it is busy. The one area I think they could improve in most is by creating some sustainable initiatives.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope it helps you!! 😊
