Blowers & Grafton (Whyte Ave)

A satisfying & authentic Halifax street food bar.

Atmosphere: 4/5 – Modern & sleek. Pretty comfortable seating.

Price: $$$/5 – On the lower side of average for a restaurant (eg// Prices comparable to Boston Pizza)

Customer Service: 4/5 – Servers were polite. Service was average speed.

Location: 5/5 – In the heart of Whyte Ave. Lots to do nearby.

Taste: 4/5 – Loads of above average tasting dishes. Not a huge fan of potato skin-on fries.

Menu: 4/5 – Average size menu with many authentic and tasty meals. Gluten free friendly.

Sustainability: 1/5 – No locally produced ingredients. No sustainable initiatives.

Strengths – Authentic menu in a great location.

Weaknesses – No sustainable initiatives.

Good items to buy: The OG Halifax Donair, Halifax Works, Blueberry Grunt Donuts.

Summary: 4.3/5 - Overall, I would recommend stopping by Blowers & Grafton if you are in the mood for some above average street food. They have lots of tasty seafood, pizza, and poutine at a reasonable price. While both a restaurant and a bar it definitely leans more towards the bar vibe. The one thing I dislike most is their lack of sustainable initiatives.
